What’s a 1031 exchange? A 1031 exchange refers to a section in the U.S. Internal Revenue code, and it’s a provision which allows property owners to defer capital gains taxes on their property sale when reinvesting that money into another like-kind property. A REALTOR® who understands 1031 exchanges could effectively assist his/her clients as they move upward and build their net worth.
